  3. <hi style=afpcap>World War Two saw the manufacturers in the USA design and build some very strange looking aircraft types as well as some which were decidedly good looking. Amongst the weird was the Curtiss YC-76A which was an all wood Caravan powered by two R-1380 engines. Sixteen were ordered in 1942 with the prototype making its first flight in May 1943.</hi>
